Yes, one of the options available for commercial solar panels is a solar power purchase agreement. Under such an agreement there is no upfront investment needed and installation and set up is handled by us – you only pay for the power at a pre-agreed fixed rate which is guaranteed to be lower than the rates with your current electricity provider. Maintenance and monitoring is managed by us so you can benefit without any of the hassle.
Different sized systems will take differing amounts of time. Once you have signed the contract, we will advise of the approximated time to complete the job, however we aim to do all our works within the day.
We do not buy the energy back from you if there is excess. We will look to optimise the system size, to ensure there is no wasted energy being transferred back to your supplier.
Our systems come with comprehensive warranties. Typically, solar panels have a 25-year performance warranty, and inverters (the component that converts solar energy) have a 5-10 year manufacturer’s warranty. We also provide a warranty on our installation workmanship. Opt for a PPA and all maintenance issues are handled by us.
While some past schemes have closed, businesses can still benefit from significant capital allowances, allowing you to deduct a large portion of the installation cost from your pre-tax profits. For EV charging, the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is available, which provides a voucher of up to £350 per charging socket.
If you move premises or sell your business, it is possible with our approval to transfer the PPA to the new owner or tenant who would take over the contract. We would have to approve the new owner/tenant and be satisfied that they have the financial capability to make the PPA payments.
If the new owner does not want to take over the PPA, or the agreement is making any potential property sale difficult, you could buy the system outright, in which case the solar array becomes an asset and part of any property sale.
Installing solar panels offers several benefits including:
Reduced electricity bills: Solar panels generate clean, renewable energy from the sun, which can significantly lower your electricity costs.
Environmentally friendly: Solar energy is a sustainable and green source of power that helps reduce carbon emissions and reliance on fossil fuels.
Energy independence: By generating your own electricity, you become less dependent on the grid, giving you more control over your energy consumption.
Financial incentives: Many incentives including tax breaks which can further enhance the financial benefits of solar installation.
Increased property value: Solar panels can increase the value of your business premises, making it more attractive to potential buyers.
